About Owner and Author Mike Bauerla
Mike Bauerla has nearly 40 years of experience in the electrical trade. He began his career as an Electrician’s Apprentice, then Journeyman, and then excelled his way to a Master Electrician. He owned his own Electrical Contracting firm and transitioned into education in 2010. He has taught in Career and Technical Education at the high school level, adult electrical apprenticeship, has been an Adjunct Instructor at the college level, and regularly teaches Continuing Education Seminars for electrical license renewal. He has taught for the Ford Motor Company at their Assembly Plants in Kentucky, Jefferson County Public Schools Electrical Maintenance, the Metropolitan Sewer District of Louisville Maintenance, and electrical maintenance at the Louisville International Airport.
He has done curriculum review for Goodheart-Wilcox Publishing, Chicago Illinois, and is a Subject Matter Expert for the National Center for Construction Education and Research. In 2017 he was a team member for Mike Holt’s Bonding and Grounding publication and videos.
Mike has spent nearly the last fifteen years developing methods for hands on lab-based learning for the Electrical Apprentice. The books and equipment products from Electric Lab are the result of research and development over many years of experience.
All students, young and adult alike, learn best by doing – not just by lecture. This is the highest level of learning to develop skills and the retainment of those skills.
